Field Trip and Volunteer Procedures **New!!**

Question: Does everyone who provides support for schools need to complete the new training requirement?
Answer: All volunteers who regularly support schools need to complete the Child Abuse and Neglect training. However, this requirement does not apply to individuals who help out or support at large events under supervision of school staff or those who assist at one-time events, such as (not inclusive list):
- Guest readers and speakers in classrooms where they will be supervised at all times by an MCPS employee
- Volunteers at job and college fairs, and- Parents/guardians or other relatives who are observing a celebration (e.g., the Halloween parade) or helping with a class party.
These individuals are encouraged to complete the training, but are not required to do so.
